SONAR was established in 1977 by Muzaffer Çevik, with specialization in "drilling" and "engineering geology", which was followed by the establishment of "grouting" and "water well drilling" departments. In 1993, "geotechnical engineering" branch of civil engineering discipline became the main field of activity. With 33 years of experience, SONAR has become a national leader in the field of geotechnical engineering.

SONAR is currently engaged in contracting activities with a geographical emphasis on Turkey, Middle East and CIS Republics.
